Cats Ready For Adoption

Rumble & Riot ~ bonded pair

Riot and Rumble (both 1.5 years old) are a beautiful pair of brothers looking for a loving home to share. These boys came to us from a flat where they were receiving a lot of aggressive behavior from their father cat. Despite efforts to calm the home environment, Riot and Rumble’s owners decided that rehoming the pair was in the cats’ best interest.

When first coming to us, they were too terrified to leave a shared box in their own private room. Thankfully, Binx - another cat who arrived around the same time - helped the pair come out of their shells and gave them the courage to follow him.

Over time, our staff and volunteers found them to be incredibly affectionate cats who adore cuddles, lap time and playing. Turns out, they both play fetch! Riot and Rumble are currently living in our largest private room upstairs with some other calm cats, and enjoy getting a good fuss when the team is on break.

While the duo is very happy with some cats and trusted humans, they are incredibly shy around new people. After great consideration, we believe they would not adapt well to the hustle and bustle of cafe life and would benefit greatly from a calm, stable home.

Ideally, their new home would be adult-only or include gentle children over 12 years old who can respect their boundaries. Riot and Rumble enjoy the company of other cats but due to their past experiences, those cats must have calm temperaments with no aggressive tendencies. Although they have never before had outside access, they could either have a spacious indoor-only home, or one with a private cat safe space to explore.

With Riot's love of tummy rubs and Rumble's desire to literally jump into your arms, all they need is a new family to welcome them home.

PS. Riot and Rumble’s pal Binx still has a question mark over his suitability for the cafe - if you would like to offer a home to all three of these musketeers, we would be happy to hear from you.

If you sign up to our adoptions and fostering list, we will email you when we are looking for new homes for cats. These might be cats living in our cafe who are ready to find a new family, or cats who have been left in our care. From time to time, we offer fostering opportunities and special events for cat carers in London, so you may hear about these if you sign up to this list.

We share our adoption success stories on our social media accounts, so if you'd like to keep up with the cats who have been happily rehomed, follow us on Instagram, Tiktok, or Facebook.

How does rehoming work at Lady Dinah's?

The goal for our rescue cats and kittens is to be a stable foster haven for them during their stay, in which we can nurture their growth and help socialise them into confident, happy cats. Our cats and kittens only stay with us as long as they are happy living a cafe life, whether that's only for a few months or even a few years. All cats are different, and our approach to rehoming is very much cat-led. They let us know when they're ready.

Most cats are not fans of big changes. We aim to minimise the amount of change our cats are exposed to by keeping our clowder as stable as possible. Whilst we are huge advocates for rehoming as much as we can, we also consider how our cats feel, their relationships and dynamics with one another, and their quality of life at Lady Dinah's while they are with us.

Lady Dinah's employs a team of Cat Carers, all trained in animal welfare and husbandry, whose important job is not only to introduce our cats to our guests, but to uphold our high standards of welfare and monitor our cats' behaviours. One of our Cat Carers' many jobs is to look out for any signs of our cats being ready to find a forever home.

Although we are kept busy by doing our best to provide our guests and resident felines with wonderful experiences at Lady Dinah's, we've also dedicated a lot of time and energy over the years to helping humans and cats find each other in order to make happy homes. To date, we have found loving homes for more than 120 rescue cats forever, and nothing brings us more joy than seeing our former residents settle into their cosy new abodes.
